Hypothesis
Matriliny is associated with the prior presence of matrilocality.
Note
The first p value given is the significance of the association between the trait and matriliny using the SCCS, and the second is using the supertree. Authors note that there is support for correlated evolution, but not for the casual transition from matrilocality to matrilineality (p. 7). Instead, the correlated evolution analysis suggested that matriliny precedes matrilocality. As a result, the causality is in the opposite direction than anticipated.
