Hypothesis
Structural characteristics of society will significantly predict the degree of differentiation between internal and external conflict.
Note
The following independent variables were determined to be significant: Intercommunity marriage in decentralized (p<.01), strength of cross-cutting ties scale (p<.001), and matrilocality (p<.05). With the addition of the external conflict and violence independent variable, the following variables are no longer significant: fraternal interest group strength in decentralized societies, harsh socialization practices, and affectionate socialization practices. See pg. 557, Table 3 for multiple regression analysis.
